Useful Information:
B/W or Sepia Photographs, Tin Types and B/W Negatives (over 50 years) are at the point of deterioration. You will notice a darkening and silvering of the photo or negative. A B/W or Sepia Photograph will fade and start to silver in the dark areas of the image. With a Tin Type, it darkens gradually overall and then starts to silver on the surface. B/W Negatives will darken at the edges, gradually working it's way thru the whole negative, and silver at the same time. Silvering starts as a hazing, then slowly gets a silvery look to it. This is a chemical breakdown in the image. To slow the process, you should always keep all negatives and photos in a dark, cool, dry place. With the older Tin Types and Negatives, they should be kept in the dark as much as possible.
Hard to enjoy them that way?
Restoration can reverse the blackening/fading and mostly eliminate the silvering caused by age. Hint: You're going to want to make print copies of the B/W negatives before sending.

  Copyright:
Copyright can be a very tricky subject. At this time, pictures taken by a professional photographer, must be 75 years old or more; or the photographer must be deceased at least 30 years before they can be legally altered by a third party without consent. That is only for images taken by a professional photographer.
Most photographers will give you a release if asked, and the photo is over 2-3 years old. This release should be enclosed in your order. If you have a problem finding the photographer, please submit as much information as possible to find said photographer(IE)Name, Company,  location of studio, and time the image was taken.Remember Any information you can get will be useful.
If the image was taken by yourself or a family member, then you should have no problem. But if it is professional looking in any way, you should enclose in your order a letter releasing it to Ageless Images for copy purposes.
